Optical Dispersion Modelling of Thin Layers with Multiwavelength MP-SPR
von Réka Enz
Application Note # 171
From our “looking at layers” corner:
Non absorbing layers analysed in miniscule detail.
The latest application note of our partner BioNavis focuses on the determination of the refractive index, the thickness, and the dispersion constants of thin non-absorbing layers.
The data show that while the layer thickness can remain constant, the values for the refractive index depend on the distance to the sensor surface, indicating an increase in hydration during deposition, which may add the decisive extra for the understanding of the layering.
The information and sensitivity gain provided by MP-SPR compared to standard interaction characterizations, and the stability in long-time measurements becomes obvious once more in this multilayer formation experiment.
